my foster dogs

Anytime I can (and even when I really can’t, hah) I like to foster dogs that are dangerously close to being put to sleep in shelters. Fosters are in high demand, but unfortunately there aren’t that many. I’m not really in a position to be taking care of more dogs, but sometimes when I see some of these dogs that are in dire need of help, I have to do something.

Right now, I happen to be fostering two different dogs named Keiko and Maddie. Keiko is a female chihuahua, about a year and a half old. She’s very energetic and SO smart! Anytime I command her to go “down,” she’ll get right onto her back and beg for a belly rub! If I had the time and resources to keep two dogs, I would definitely keep Keiko. But it would be selfish of me to keep her and not give her the attention she deserves.

The other pup is Maddie, a 10-month-old black chihuahua (although, if you ask me, she looks more like a mini lab/pit mix. She’s already 10 lbs., and she’ll probably grow another 4 or 5 pounds). She is shy and sweet, and has probably the cutest little face ever. Maddie has cherry eye, and it’s a non-life threatening and non-contagious growth on the eye… Nothing a routine surgery can’t fix. I’d like to get her taken care of before placing her in a loving forever home. I’m raising money for her to be able to get the surgery necessary to get rid of cherry eye, so if you’re able to donate, I’d appreciate it very much! You can donate easily through your PayPal account. Here’s the link: http://tenipanosian.chipin.com/maddies-cherry-eye-surgery. You can also donate by clicking on the “ChipIn” button in the widget below.

If you or anyone you know are interested in adopting either (or both!) of these dogs, please let me know! They are both spayed, microchipped, and have all of their shots up to date. There is no fee to adopt either dog… Just a promise that you will love and cherish them forever!

Beautiful video ! I volunteer at dog recuse and it is so true that most seniors are not lucky enough to get out of a pound to be adopted, thankfully most recuses will have a few senior dogs at all times. Seniors are gentle, wise, and usually very easy, laid back dogs, make excellent best friends ! They may not have as long to live as a puppy or very young dog, but remember you can give them the best years of their life, and they will be forever grateful to you.
